Critical Hits is a combat mechanic that was first introduced in the 1.3 update for Wii U version. These can be executed by attacking a cannibal from behind and not spotting you. Managing to perform a critical hit, will allow the cannibal to instantly die, even from an empty hand. The red words, "Critical Hit!" will appear to let the player know they successfully achieved the hit.
